A Hardworking Laborer is Introduced to Jesus
Tamil is the primary language of 218 nations, 126 of which are still considered unreached. These unknown nations represent more than 68 million people who still lack access to the gospel. Most are located in South Asia.
We recently sent Treasure audio Bibles in the Tamil language to our indigenous leader in India. During follow-up on their distribution, we received the following testimony, captured by our leader in the field:
I am 53 years old, and I take pride in being a resident of India. As a laborer, I work hard to provide for my family. I have been a laborer since childhood, so can’t read or write. I used to have many bad habits, like drinking and smoking.
One day I went to an audio Bible distribution event and got a Tamil Treasure audio Bible. I began listening to it daily out of curiosity. A verse that meant a lot to me was Matthew 11:28, where Jesus says, “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” It felt as though Jesus was speaking to me personally, inviting me to come to Him and find peace.
As I kept listening to the audio Bible, I started to understand the love and forgiveness that God offers. I realized that I don’t have to be limited by my past or my situation; I can be a child of God, loved and accepted just as I am. Now, I am no longer just a laborer but a child of God. This audio has changed my life, and I began attending church every day.
This man shared a heartfelt thank you to everyone who made it possible for him to access God’s Word. Transformation is taking place in his often overlooked community. Praise God that His Word is going out and taking root among unknown nations!
