We Had Tried Everything
Arun lives in a small village with his family, eight of them under one roof. This is his story.
Before they knew Jesus, Arun's family worshiped idols. They tried to please one god after another, and they worked hard at it. They believed that if they did enough, something would finally change.
It didn't. There was no peace in their home. Someone in the family was almost always sick, and they never knew where to turn for help. They spent everything they had saved looking for answers through witchcraft and other spiritual practices. When the money was gone, nothing had improved. They were still afraid, still sick, and now they had nothing left to try.
Then one day a pastor came to visit. He sat with the family and told them a story about Jesus healing a lame man. He told them who Jesus is, and he invited them to repent of their sins and put their faith in Him.
They decided to follow Jesus.
As they began to trust Him, something changed in their home that they had never been able to bring about themselves. A new peace settled over the family. Those who had been suffering with sickness were healed. One by one, Arun's family members came to know Jesus personally.
They also received a Treasure in their own language. It became like a personal teacher to them, helping them understand God's Word and grow in their faith.
What happened next, they never expected. Their neighbors saw how much they had changed, and six more families came to Jesus. Together, they planted a house church in the village.
Today, 35 baptized believers worship and grow together there. It started with one family, and now it is a community.
Arun is thankful to Jesus for changing his life, healing his family, and giving them hope. He and his family want to keep sharing the good news with others so that more families around them can receive the same transformation.
