Safia’s Testimony
In a small thread factory, among humming machines and long hours, Safia felt out of place.
For three years, she followed Jesus. But she could not read. The Word of God reached her only through others: at church, through a pastor, or someone reading aloud to her. Because of this, she believed she could not share her faith.
Each day, Safia worked alongside 20 women who had never heard the gospel. She longed to share her hope, yet felt unable to tell her story.
For nearly two years, Safia asked God for a way. Her prayers were answered when one of our leaders gave her a Treasure audio Bible in Punjabi, her heart language.
With the Treasure in hand, Safia felt empowered. “My coworkers ask me to play the Treasure instead of the radio while we work,” Safia says. “They often ask questions about what they hear.”
In just one month, Safia and her coworkers have listened to the entire Bible at least twice. They are especially drawn to the story of Jesus and the Samaritan woman in John 4.
Today, because of one Treasure audio Bible, eight of these women have now accepted Jesus Christ as their Savior simply by hearing God’s Word. In just two months, Safia has shared the gospel with more women than ever before, resulting in these new commitments.
At home, each evening, Safia listens with her family. Her husband, who had once struggled, has rededicated his life to Jesus and overcome his bad habits.
Neighbors have begun to notice a change. “They ask what is different,” Safia explains.
“We tell them we are listening to the Word of God, and it has the power to change our lives. The Treasure allows someone like me to explain who Jesus Christ is to others like me.”
Through your prayers and support of Treasure audio Bibles, what began as a quiet prayer has transformed into new lives joining in the image of Christ.
