Youth Movement Inside IDP Camps
Amidst the hardship and turmoil facing families in Myanmar’s internally displaced persons (IDP) camps, a beautiful movement of faith is growing—particularly through the impact of Treasures.
One of our local leaders shared, “Many families now listen to the Treasure together each night. The Word of God has entered their homes and hearts.” This past month, during school holidays, our team hosted a special three-day outreach for teenagers, ages 10 to 16, teaching from creation to salvation. These young hearts, already softened by years of hearing the gospel through Treasures, were ready to respond.
At the end of the outreach, the leader gave an invitation to follow Jesus. Out of 42 teenagers, 35 boldly repented and accepted Christ. “When I asked them if they wanted to follow Jesus, almost all of them stood up. It was a holy moment,” the leader reported. These youth come from Buddhist backgrounds and are the second generation of IDP families who first heard about Jesus through the audio Bibles.
A week later, all 35 were baptized at our Leadership Training Center. “Our tears flowed as we baptized them,” he said.
“The Treasure was the beginning of their journey, and now they are choosing to follow Jesus for life.”
We continue to disciple these young believers, teaching them about the Holy Spirit and foundational truths of the faith. “They are so teachable and full of fire to share Jesus with their friends,” the leader said joyfully. In the midst of civil war, displacement, and suffering, God is building His church through the faithful witness of His Word—spoken day and night through the Treasure.
Thank you for your ongoing partnership in this remarkable harvest. Let’s keep sowing together, more fruit is coming.
