Testimony of Hamid

Hamid (name changed for protection) quietly crossed the border to join a secure gathering of Pashtun believers, gathered for training. Despite the risks, 25 participants attended from Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Each day began with devotion, followed by teaching centered on one theme: “The Love of Christ for Us.” The men shared their stories, laughed, and wept together, strengthened by rare fellowship in a region marked by pressure and isolation.

This is Unknown Nations’ strategy: to invest deeply in indigenous leaders, equipping them to return home prepared to disciple others in some of the world’s hardest places.

Hamid carried that encouragement back to Afghanistan’s remote villages, where he met Rahim Khan (name changed for protection), a respected tribal chief known for strength and deep cultural loyalty. Hamid gave him a Treasure audio Bible.

As Rahim Khan listened to the stories of Jesus, something remarkable happened. The stories of Jesus pierced his heart.

He began inviting Hamid into his home. Questions turned into faith. In time, the tribal chief surrendered his life to Christ.

From that decision, a small underground fellowship was born.

Today, a few short months later, 17 believers meet secretly in that remote village under Rahim Khan’s leadership, with Hamid guiding and discipling them. But their faith has come at a cost. When surrounding communities discovered their new belief, the entire village was boycotted. Trade stopped. Threats followed.

Still, Rahim Khan declares, “We will not turn back. We will follow Jesus no matter what.”

One training. One tribal chief transformed. One underground church shining Christ’s light in Afghanistan.

Pray for wisdom and courage as they proclaim the gospel in these difficult conditions.
